Residential Leadership Programs

Welcome to the Residential Leadership Programs at Frostburg State University

At Frostburg State University, we are committed to providing our on-campus residents with more than just a place to sleep. We believe in creating a vibrant and engaging living experience through our Residential Leadership Programs, supported by the Residence Life Office. These programs include the Residence Hall Association (RHA) and the National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH), and they are funded by fees paid by our on-campus residents.

Residence Hall Association (RHA)

The Residence Hall Association (RHA) is a dynamic, student-led organization that plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents. Comprising students who live in the residence halls, RHA serves as a vital link between residents and the university administration. Our primary objectives within RHA are:

Advocacy: RHA represents the voice of on-campus residents, advocating for their needs and concerns. We collaborate closely with university administrators to address issues related to housing, facilities, and the overall campus experience.

Programming: We organize a wide range of events and activities designed to foster a sense of belonging and community among residents. These events include movie nights, game tournaments, cultural celebrations, and educational workshops.

Leadership Development: RHA offers numerous leadership opportunities to students eager to make a difference in their residential communities. You can get involved by joining the RHA executive board or becoming a hall representative.

Service: We believe in giving back to our community. RHA frequently coordinates service projects and initiatives to make a positive impact on and off campus.

National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH)

The National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH) is a prestigious organization that recognizes and celebrates exceptional leaders within our residence halls. NRHH is built upon the following principles:

Recognition: NRHH identifies and honors residents who have demonstrated outstanding leadership, service, and academic achievement. Membership in NRHH is a prestigious honor.

Service: NRHH members actively engage in community service and philanthropic efforts. We are dedicated to giving back to our campus and the local community.

Leadership Development: NRHH provides opportunities for personal and leadership development. Members participate in workshops, seminars, and networking events to enhance their skills.

Scholarship: We promote academic excellence and recognize the importance of maintaining a strong GPA while taking on leadership roles.

Funding and Your Contribution

The Residential Leadership Programs, including RHA and NRHH, rely on funding from fees paid by our on-campus residents. When you choose to reside in our residence halls, a portion of your housing fees directly supports these programs. Your contribution helps create an active, inclusive, and thriving community that enhances both your academic and social experiences.

Get Involved

We invite you to actively participate in your residential community and consider joining RHA or aspiring to become a member of NRHH. By getting involved, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of campus living and positively impacting the lives of your fellow residents.
